The French ocean carrier CMA CGM will implement new Freight All Kinds (FAK) rate increases in shipments destined to West Africa, effective from 1 March.
Firstly, the Marseille-based liner operator will push up its rates from the European ports, including Barcelona, Valencia, Genoa, Lisbon, Koper, Antwerp, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Le Havre, and Tilbury, to West African ports, such as Abidjan, Douala, Luanda, Tincan, Apapa, Tema, Dakar, and Kribi.
The rate increases that will be applied to all 20′, 40′, standard (ST) and high cube (HC) containers, will be as follows:
In addition, CMA CGM will impose new FAK rate increases, from Turkey, Egypt, Lebanon, Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria and North Africa to all West African ports, “offered in direct on CMA CGM services.”
